What is Indivisible?
We are a non-partisan grassroots movement with a mission to strengthen and rebuild our democracy which is under critical threat. We are a broad based, massive, organized, peaceful, pro-democracy movement . There are more than 2000 local indivisible groups. There are 10 new groups formed each day.
What’s happening in Lake County, CA?
We feel this is a critical moment. The current regime is attempting an authoritarian takeover of our democracy AND people at the grassroots level are rising up en-mass to say NOT ON OUR WATCH.
Our local Indivisible group is re-energized to stand up, speak up and support Lake County's strategic non-cooperation.
Advocacy for Justice and Our Community
Lake County was impacted during the Trump administration’s first 100 days.
Immigrants in our California communities are under threat--and being detained and in some cases shipped to foreign prisons without due process. Immigrants in our community are our friends and neighbors. They work in our farms and vineyards. They are entitled to respect and due process of law.
Budget cuts impact a number of areas important to our community:
- Monies needed to address wild fire hazards
- Medicaid funding which not only significantly impacts local residents, but also our local hospitals and clinics. Cuts will affect everyone's ability to get quality healthcare.
- Education
- Local non-profits and public safety-net programs
- The management of public lands and the environment
The list goes on.
What does Indivisible Lake County CA do?
- Organize strategic local actions to fight authoritarian overreach
- Publicize and support local demonstrations.
- Work with our local congressional office to stand strong and to support neighboring districts that have weaker representation.
- Provide issue-based civic education -- keeping our community informed of what is happening right here at home
- Link up and collaborate with both local allies and other nearby indivisible groups in neighboring cities and counties.
- Amplify the stories and voices of those in Lake County fighting for our community and values
- Provide outreach support to allies, groups, and individuals on the front lines of these efforts
