This is a hard day.
We lost this big one. But barely.
This Big Ugly Budget Bill, passed on 7/3/25, by the slimmest of margins on party lines. It represents the largest transfer of American wealth from vulnerable poor to ultra wealthy in American history.
Estimated to add $5 TRILLION to the national debt . It massively funds the largest DOMESTIC law enforcement in US History--roughly equivalent to the third largest military in the world.
Many of us here in Lake County have been calling, writing, showing up at rallies—doing everything we can to stop it. And still, it went through.
It’s devastating. It’s enraging. And it’s okay to feel that. We do too.
Let’s take a breath.
We want to pause today to thank you. Truly.
Thank you for standing up, again and again, for democracy, justice, and compassion. For making your calls. For holding signs in the sun. For staying informed and engaged. For showing up for each other, and for a future we believe in.
Even when it feels like no one is listening, we are making a difference. We are slowing the worst. We are growing our movement. And we are preparing for what's next.
Today we rest and regroup.
And next week—we rise.
We’ll keep organizing. We’ll keep calling out corruption and cruelty. And we’ll remind every elected official that there are consequences for voting against the people.
Now we must mobilize to resist. Check our ACTION PAGE for what's next.
